Năm xưa, nhớ ngày nào tôi cũng đạp xe từ Chợ Lớn ra Tân Định đi học và mỗi lần như thế đều băng qua CLB. À chỗ này không sinh hoạt tem bì nhá! Các hội viên CLB VietStamp đừng đến nhầm địa chỉ : 150, Hồng Thâp Tự (Xô Viết Nghệ Tỉnh / Nguyễn Thị Minh Khai) :D. Khi xưa nếu tôi nhớ không lầm thì CLB Thể Thao Saigon nằm trong vườn Tao Đàn. Ngày ấy tôi vốn đã có tánh tiếu lâm nên thường tự hỏi Tao Đàn ở đây còn Mầy Đàn ở đâu? :)) CLB này được xây dựng từ thời Pháp có tên là Cercle (vòng tròn) mà thời ông Diệm và trước nữa Tây Đầm và một số dân Việt thân Pháp thường vào đây chơi thể thao. Dân Giao Chỉ đọc là Xẹt (Cercle). Còn vườn Tao Đàn vốn là vườn ông Thượng, vào những năm 60, gia đình tôi thường gọi là vườn Bồ Rô. Mời Ace xem ảnh xưa để biết tiểu sử của CLB này.

Câu lạc bộ thể thao Saigon được thành lập từ năm 1896, nhưng mãi đến năm 1902 mới được chính thức thừa nhận và hoạt động cho đến 1975 mới chấm dứt khi Saigon sụp đổ. Câu lạc bộ chiếm một diện tích khoản 5 hectares và trả tiền thuê cho thành phố Saigon. 1-Hồ bơi.

5-Thư viện gồm hơn 5000 sách vở có phòng đọc sách với nhiều tạp chí gởi qua từ Pháp bằng đường thủy hay hàng không.

6-Và một khu vườn rất đẹp với lối đi và cây kiển chăm sóc kỷ lưởng.
Hội viên gồm nhiều loại : thường trực, tạm thời và các khách mời……

1-Le Cercle Sportif Saïgonnais (CSS) có phát hành một Bán nguyệt sang tại Saigon xoay quanh những hoạt động của CSS.

4-Sân Football : Tại đây vào Tháng 6, 1949 có tổ chức một trận thi đấu giữa đội Siamese team và các cầu thủ tuyển lựa của Saigon dưới sự chủ tọa của Thủ tướng Nguyển văn Hửu.
