Old unissued south Vietnam?

That's an artist proof with signature related to the Prince Bao Long stamp set issued in June 1956 under the (South) Vietnam State era. |

Because so far i never saw it :) And i actually cannot remember any set for Bao Long in 1956. It was in 1954 and it's completely different design. This is a stamp design (on proof) and it is unissued. There are 2 unissued proofs at that time: one is Bao Long Prince (this one) and Bao Dai King (another stamp design, and also it is printed on proof (black & white) but they are not issued). There are no exist of stamps (from these proof). This unissued Bao Long Prince proof has just been sold at cheap price (I thought it must be sold at least of USD 650), but you can see it is far under the amount. My friend, Dr. G.C (in France) won it at very good price. |

Real or fake ? It's difficult to determine unless you have had experience to see and touch few same items by yourself. However, how could you have a chance with a rare item like it ? By away, it's rare but it appears in philatelic market sometimes. Do you trust to buy it $650 from a far distance by only looking and feeling it real ? Regards, Khai |

I never intent to risk 650$ :) For sure you're right that it's rather hard and risky to bid big amount of money on the item you see only on a scan in internet :) Thats why i actually bid much less, the amount i'm ready to risk just because of curiosity :) So when the bids grow higher than 100 USD i stopped because just for curiosity it's too much :) |
